Price Increase of Ultra Isolation Transformer

Howdy everyone,

We are very happy that we received a lot of praises on our Ultra Isolation Transformers and Ultra Isolation Power Transformers (for tube audio and solid electronics) on HIFI and industrial applications. They are considered one of the best, if not the best transformer to be used for audio applications. 

Our Ultra Isolation Transformers price has been stagnant since a few years ago. Unfortunately due to materials / commodities prices increase (some had increased over 10%, as well as labor rate rise, we have to revised our Ultra Isolation Transformer prices. 

FYI - our Ultra Isolation Transformers (or Ultra Isolation Power Transformers) takes 8-10x longer time to produce compared to standard transformers. It is a very labor intensive job and making a perfect one is not a simple feat. So, please bear with us if your Ultra Isolation Transformers or Ultra Isolation Power Transformers take longer time to produce.

Several of our experienced designers and workers are overstretched, overworked, and complained about the burden on them to always being pushed for deliveries. Our experienced staffs are not young (I'm getting old too!) anymore and and we are expanding our human resources slightly but still no drastic huge hiring to keep the quality of the personnel hired and have quality job done for our customers. Therefore, lead time is still rather long. 

Please plan ahead and order early if you need anything from us with lead time of 4-8 weeks. Else, please look elsewhere if you need rushed orders. We do not wish to have any arguments down the road if you feel that your orders take too long to deliver - we have pre-warned you here again.

Fully Built Transformer Volume Control

Fully Built Transformer Volume Control - would anyone be interested?

 We REALLY hesitated on introducing a fully built transformer volume control due to the amount of manual labor required to solder the TVC to the step-switch. One unit of fully built stereo Transformer Volume Control takes 5-8 hours to solder!

Due to the overwhelming response from readers asking for a fully built TVC as not many are trained on soldering and building audio kits, we are introducing this, for a limited time, for a limited quantity, for batches order only so that we can keep the quality in control. 

 Also, we think that Transformer Volume Control is something that an audiophile must own as the improvement in sound is just substantial over the price paid (very high cost / performance ratio), we are doing a limited time promotion on standard configuration standard TVC to keep the cost of making them down. 

Standard standalone 24-step TVC - U$590/pair (RM-2350) (special batch order price only)

What's the difference between this and the custom made version? Custom made (more expensive) version offers superior cores - NanoCrystalline (aka Finemet), Permalloy and Amorphous, and is customisable (different primary/secondary impedance, different step-up/down ratios, configurable and etc), different grade of wires, solder, and etc. Sound quality wise, custom made version is a grade higher too (that justifies the price!). 

 Still, this standard version is excellent sounding - with extended frequency range, solid vocals/body and clarity! The difference between TVC and resistive stepped attenuator is easily differentiated even by non-audiophiles! You owe yourself to own it, trust us!

General notes / tips

  • Users should keep 10-20% VA unused from total core VA for lower operating temperature and stability - 75% will be ideal. 
  • Higher number of secondary taps will lower efficiency.
  • Mixture of high and low voltage, or high and low current will lower efficiency.
  • Please provide clear schematic if you are unsure of what to order.
  • Separate the B+ transformers and DC filament transformers into 2 transformers for lowest noise. High current bridge or solid state diodes for DC rectification generates A LOT of noise.
